If your organization is selected as a potential partner, you will be notified by a Foundation representative and additional documentation may be required to be submitted prior to acceptance. Please be aware that if your organization is selected, you will not have a choice of the 5050 Raffle Game date for participation, but you may be given the opportunity to decline a proposed date and offered an alternative date, in the Foundation's sole discretion.

A Typical Trail Blazers Foundation 5050 Raffle Game Night

The Foundation’s 5050 Raffle is an excellent opportunity for a nonprofit organization to raise funds for their organization at a Trail Blazers home basketball game. Participants in the 5050 Raffle Program are required to recruit volunteers on their own and provide an adequate number of volunteers on selected game date to properly sell raffle tickets. Volunteers are expected to commit to the following (additional requirements are noted under "Nonprofit Volunteer and Staff Expectations" in the application below):

  • Review the volunteer training video prior to arrival
  • Check in with Trail Blazers Staff and complete paperwork prior to volunteering
  • Sell 5050 Raffle tickets until at least the end of halftime of the respective game
  • Have enough adult volunteers in attendance to pair up with those under the age 18

During the third quarter of each 5050 Raffle game, a winning number is electronically selected by a random drawing and the winning number is publicly posted in the arena and on the foundation website. The raffle winner will receive 50% of the gross Jackpot for the respective game. The remaining 50% of the jackpot will be split equally between the Foundation and the Nonprofit partner for that game after fees are assessed. Please visit our website to see the previous 5050 Raffle total jackpot amounts.

Nonprofit Volunteer and Staff Expectations

The Foundation has certain expectations for all 5050 Program participants. We rely on nonprofits to ensure a seamless, positive game night and 5050 Raffle experience for the volunteers as well as all fans attending the game. Please read through the following expectations and confirm that your nonprofit will be able to meet these requirements, should your Nonprofit have the opportunity to participate in the 5050 Program:

1) You will need to provide at least one (1) staff lead who will be responsible for all communication between the Foundation staff, as well as the recruitment of and communication with 20-25 Volunteers. Do you have someone in your organization with the capacity to accomplish this?*
2) It is very important that your staff lead is able to encourage volunteers to be excited and engaged in the task of selling 5050 Raffle tickets for approximately four (4) hours on game night. Does your staff lead have the capability of motivating & encouraging Volunteers in this manner?*
3) ) It’s important that Volunteers are clearly aware of their role and all expectations prior to committing to volunteer for your organization selling tickets in the 5050 Raffle. Does your staff lead have the capacity to recruit Volunteers and communicate clearly to them the role and expectations for an evening of selling 5050 Raffle tickets?*
4) Volunteers are expected to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to the official opening of the Moda Center doors on game night, often around 3:45-4:45pm depending on the official game time. Volunteers will need to be able to move about the concourses of the Moda Center and sell tickets to fans through the end of halftime of the game (approximately four (4) hours). Are the Volunteers for your organization comfortable with this time commitment expectation?*
5) Volunteers will be expected to wear aprons and carry equipment that represent the Foundation while selling tickets, thus we expect them to dress and act in an appropriate manner with all fans, including fans of the opposing teams, and all Rose Quarter and game related personnel. We ask that Volunteers do not drink or eat anything while selling, wear clothing with offensive statements, and/or treat any fan with disrespect. If a Volunteer’s attire, attitude or actions are deemed inappropriate, as determined in the Foundation’s or staff lead’s reasonable discretion, it is possible we will ask the offending volunteer to stop volunteering for the remainder of the evening. Is your organization and/or staff lead comfortable with clearly communicating these expectations to the Volunteers prior to their committing to volunteer?*
6) Volunteers are expected to adhere to the NBA Fan Code of Conduct. Do you agree that your staff and volunteers will follow the guidelines?*
